she picked up the envelope and held it carefully as if it were wet and dripping.

For loosing it and for whatever you did in the first place.

He'd hoped saying that would make him feel better.

It's just a dumb old envelope. 

People could walk by this envelope for weeks not even notice it.

They wouldn't bother to open a boring envelope like this.
